What is GIFTDECK?
GIFTDECK is a platform for trusted gifting of PC games. It's a game of Secret Santa: you sign up for an event, the system matches you a partner, and you gift each other Steam games. You can also gift “just because” — from the card of any open profile.
Is it free?
Yes. Taking part, signing up, and matching are free. The games themselves are bought by the gifters at their own expense (that's the whole point — to delight someone else). GIFTDECK+ is voluntary support for the project in exchange for cosmetic perks; everything works without it.
How does Secret Santa work?
Five steps: sign up for an event → review by a moderator → the match draw → you gift a game to your recipient → they confirm receipt. We don't reveal your Santa's name — that's the “secret” part. You can follow the phases on the events page.
How will I receive a gifted game?
Two ways: a regular Steam gift (arrives in your account) or a key — we hand it over encrypted, and you activate the game in Steam. After receiving it, press “Confirm” — that's how the gifter sees it arrived.
Is it really anonymous?
Your gifter's (“Santa's”) name isn't shown in the app. The recipient, though, is visible to the gifter — otherwise they couldn't pick and buy the gift. In “just because” gifts, both sides are visible if the profile is open.
What if nobody gifts me?
That's what rescuers are for: if your match didn't come through, another member can cover the gift. An important, honest detail — rescues are for those who themselves gifted in this event. Gift — and the circle of trust has your back.
Can I gift outside events?
Yes — the “just because” mode. Open someone's card in People and gift a game from their wishlist anytime, with no draw or deadlines. You can build a “deck” of several games or make a surprise gift.
What are levels and reputation?
You earn XP for confirmed gifts and participation, and level up. Levels unlock perks: the season leaderboard, the wheel of fortune, auto-join in matching without confirmation, and closed events. Reputation is computed honestly — from real actions, and can't be gamed.
How does the wheel of fortune work?
A free spin unlocks from level 3 once you have confirmed gifts worth 500 ₽ or more in a calendar month. Prizes are cosmetics, badges, and sometimes keys. The spin resets every month. GIFTDECK+ grants one more spin.
What are giveaways?
These are fair game-key giveaways with a transparent winner selection (provably fair: the hash seed is published in advance). The entry terms are shown on the giveaways page.
What is GIFTDECK+?
An optional thank-you subscription for supporting the project: a live avatar, a gradient name, a “+” badge, and a free wheel spin every month. It gives no advantages in gifting. More on the GIFTDECK+ page.
What about safety? What if I was scammed?
If a gift didn't arrive or something's off — open a dispute on the recipient card: a moderator will get in touch. Scamming and spam carry bans. Messages between members are ephemeral and auto-deleted.
Who sees my profile?
You decide in settings: Public — shown in the People catalog, easy to find and gift to; By link — not in the catalog, opens via a direct link; Private — hidden. You can change visibility anytime.
